For Our Town

Community Carol Service

Since December 2003 we have held a community carol service at Goldington Academy for anyone who wants to come. It provides a great chance to sing some favourite carols with great music, traditional Bible readings and a talk about the true meaning of Christmas.

Each year:
Nearer the time for the next service, if you have not received an invitation through your letter box then you can look at the flier that will be made available on the What's On page. In addition there will be a notice on the News Sheet.

Here's how it has gone before...
In 2008 we were pleased to welcome a group from Bedford Town Band to play the carols and Paul Clarke, from St Helen’s Bishopsgate, London, to give a short address.

Our 2010 Community Carol Service once again benefitted from having a group from Bedford Town Brass band joining us, albeit a little reduced in number due to the snow. This time we welcomed Shaun Atkins, Chaplain of Bedford School, to give a short address.

2011 maintained the same successful format as before, this time with Ray Evans from Grace Community Church being the speaker. Bedford Town Brass band was greatly appreciated once more.

2012. We were grateful to the band for returning again and playing so well. This year the short address was given by Mr John Moule, headmaster of Bedford School and one of the Elders of our church. The service was well attended and all were in good voice.
